Farewell Event for Mandarin Lecturer Ms. Xuke Ma.

On Tuesday, January 21, 2025, Bali Tourism Polytechnic held a farewell event for Mandarin lecturer, MS Xuke Ma, who has been teaching for one year at this institution. The event, which took place solemnly, was attended by the academic community of Bali Tourism Polytechnic, as well as special guests from TCI (Tourism and Cultural International) Udayana University. The presence of TCI Udayana University added a sense of togetherness to the event, considering the importance of cooperation between educational institutions in advancing the quality of education in the fields of tourism and language.
During his one year of teaching at Bali Tourism Polytechnic, MS Xuke Ma has made significant contributions to teaching Mandarin, which is very relevant to the increasingly global world of tourism. In addition to teaching the language, MS Xuke Ma also introduced Chinese culture to students, enriching their understanding of international cultural diversity. This farewell event also became an opportunity to remember the precious moments that have been experienced together, both by students and colleagues, who feel lost due to his move.
In his speech, MS Xuke Ma expressed his gratitude for the extraordinary experience given while teaching at the Bali Tourism Polytechnic. He expressed his hope that the good relationship between the Bali Tourism Polytechnic, Udayana University, and himself would remain even though he would be leaving Bali. The event was closed with the giving of souvenirs as a symbol of gratitude and friendship that had been built during his service, Cutting the tumpeng and taking a group photo as a memento of the journey that had been passed.

Several things discussed were the achievements of Poltekpar NHI Bandung which has entered THE Impact Ranking with a ranking of 1,501+ and the development of portfolio submissions for UI Greenmetric which has reached the submission stage. However, there are several obstacles faced by Poltekpar NHI Bandung in carrying out the submission, such as the difficulty in obtaining the necessary data, the slow response from related departments, and the difficulty in understanding the ranking system and indicators. To overcome these obstacles, several recommended steps have been submitted, including the importance of strong commitment from management, with leaders becoming leaders who show that this ranking is very significant for the achievement of the institution. In addition, leaders are also expected to take innovative steps, such as changing working hours for energy efficiency or supporting data collection in a more assertive manner.

Mentoring by resource persons from universities that have succeeded in achieving rankings is also recommended to assist this process. In addition, socialization of global rankings and their importance to the entire academic community needs to be carried out, as well as the formation of a Working Group Team involving the parties providing the necessary data. Strict evaluation and monitoring by management regarding the progress of portfolio preparation is also expected to accelerate completion and facilitate the achievement of higher rankings.
