International cooperation in education, especially in the tourism and hospitality sector, is the key to improving the quality of human resources who are ready to face global challenges. Bali Tourism Polytechnic (Poltekpar), as an educational institution that focuses on tourism development, has collaborated with the Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management (ITHM) Klessheim, Salzburg – Austria, to introduce international education standards in the world of tourism. Through this collaboration, it is hoped that Bali Polytechnic can adopt a curriculum that is in accordance with the needs of the world tourism industry, while providing training and development facilities that can improve the quality of education in Bali.
The main objective of this collaboration is to strengthen the quality of education at Bali Polytechnic by introducing learning methods and curriculum that meet international standards. Student and lecturer exchange programs are one of the efforts to enrich academic and practical experience in the field. In addition, this collaboration also opens up opportunities for teachers and students to gain the latest knowledge in the world of tourism through training, seminars, and workshops held by ITHM Salzburg. This will have a positive impact on improving the competence of human resources in the tourism and hospitality sector.
Furthermore, this collaboration is expected to enhance Poltekpar Bali’s international network with educational institutions and the global tourism industry. With broader collaboration, Poltekpar Bali students and alumni will have greater opportunities to access the international job market. In addition, the international experience gained by students through internships and student exchange programs will enrich their understanding of tourism industry standards and practices that apply globally. This collaboration also opens up opportunities for joint research that can provide innovative solutions to the challenges faced by the tourism industry, especially in Bali and Austria.
